On the subject of Diretide, I had absolutely no clue about what went down in bringing it to us. See, I was abstaining from pubmatches in DotA for the longest time so Im a little behind. But I abstained for this reason exactly. Furious that League of Legends got /their/ halloween event and that /our/ halloween event wasnt coming in time, DotA fans started spamming Volvos page asking for DT. Cool, awesome, I love it. Volvo was a good sport about it. But then when it still wasnt coming in time, a bunch of them got together and downvoted Dotas Metacritic rating from an 8 to a 3.5. Seriously? DOWNVOTED our own GAME. And if thats not enough, they then got the private number of a Dota 2 community organizer affiliated with Valve (Cyborg Matt) and decided it would be a good idea to harass him at home. Apparently, several of them threatened him. Matt? Really? CMs an awesome dude whos done so much great for DotA players and thats how we respond. I love DotA 2. Im no LoL fan but if I were, Id be laughing right now. This community needs to do some major growing up.
