On the way to the open mike the other night, walking by the river - TopicsExpress

On the way to the open mike the other night, walking by the river mouth quay, Simon said, Look theres an Eel caught in the seaweed by the tide, why dont you climb over there and catch it?. So I did. It turned out to be a Dogfish, (Huss) kind of mini shark, about a metre long. It was exhausted from trying to fight the tide while caught in the seaweed, (they can only swim forwards...a message there I think), so I was able to have a good look at its amazing hydrodynamic triple set of tail fins and sand-paper rough dotted skin, then I chucked it back in the mainstream. Later talking to my mate Any Goldsmith who is a fisherman, he explained the work involved in skinning them for supper, but even though i havent got much, Id had a delicious sag alloo from the potato patch that sprouted in my fridge, before being planted out a good few years back, and wild kale, which the garden is full of, (it grows wild all over this part of the coast). B.T.W. played wave of mutilation by the Pixies on the ukelele.
