On the weekend Miss Sara participated in the Inspired EC Conference at Nelson Bay. Over the two days, myself and other educators from around Australia unwrapped the concepts of identity, culture and belonging in our Early Childhood settings. I had the pleasure of learning from internationally renowned educational leaders: Alistair Bryce- Clegg from England (ABCDoes), Teacher Tom from the USA and Wendy Lee from NZ who all shared their knowledge and passion of the Early Years. Through these presentations, research and practical examples as a delegate I had the opportunity to... Unwrap… The concept of professional identity – who are you as an educator? What do you believe in and where do these values come from? How do you reflect on your professional identity? Unwrap… What it means to create a culture in your service – how does your service set itself apart from others? How does your philosophy underpin your practices? Unwrap…How to create a sense of belonging – how do you create a sense of belonging for children, educators and families? I have come back very inspired and ready to continue innovating our Willow Tree vision for Early Childhood. Miss Sara :)
