On this 4th of July, because of the places Ive recently been, and the things Ive recently seen . . . Im contemplating more than ever what it means to be an American. Ive walked hallowed ground where men bravely fought and died for Liberty . . . entered where thousands of immigrants entered looking for freedom . . . stood where thousands of Americans lost their lives to terrorism, where a memorial has been built to honor them and show the world were strong and that we wont forget . . . looked upon hundreds of gravesites of men who fight to end slavery and keep our country united . . . walked through war memorials built to honor those who have served and lost their lives defending those who couldnt defend themselves . . . and stood in the very room where America was born - where our founding fathers were willing to commit treason to declare our independence, and came together to author our Constitution, which is still in place today. On Americas birthday, I feel grateful and proud to be a citizen of the greatest nation on earth. One nation, under God. I love America!
