On this Friday morning, NHC continues to issue advisories for Hurricane Gonzalo. The Category 4 hurricane is centered about 195 miles south-southwest of Bermuda as of 8 a.m. EDT/AST, moving toward the north-northeast. A Hurricane Warning continues for Bermuda. Preparations to protect life and property from this dangerous hurricane should be completed during the next several hours, after which you should be in safe place and remain there for the duration of the hurricane. Tropical storm conditions will begin later morning, increasing to hurricane conditions this afternoon. A dangerous and life-threatening storm surge, accompanied by large and destructive waves, will produce significant flooding in Bermuda. Elsewhere over the Atlantic basin, there are no other disturbances with potential to become a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours or the next five days.
