On this Thanksgiving Eve, I am remembering my mama preparing for the big dinner the next afternoon...How I was mesmerized by how she cut up the onions, the potatoes, the celery, the pimentos for the potato salad...Then she would get the turkey ready with the seasonings, the stuffing, the trussing...it was a ritual...How I miss my mama and my dad and my brothers and sisters who would share this grand feast the next day! My sister would bring her most delicious pies...she was the best pie maker...everyone would bring something...then we would wait until my brother Phil would get off his shift (he was a police officer) and we would not start without him...then...once he walked in...let the games begin, LOL!!! It was loud and wonderful and so full of love and good food and thanksgiving...I am so lucky to have these memories...God bless my friends and family and everyone on Thanksgiving. How I will have such loving memories of my husband Jack and my brother Jerry and my sister-in-law Doris this special holiday...but I know they are celebrating in heaven and will be with all of us in spirit... I have and appreciate the sacred space that is family and Thanksgiving...I love you all and hope you have a great Thanksgiving. XX00
