On this Veterans Day, Id like to thank a special group of Vets. Over the years, Ive been pretty hard on slicks. Soldiers without a combat patch catch a lot of grief these days. Where you been the last twelve years? Has been heard more than once. We can be pretty harsh. Today though, Id like to thank the ones who were never asked to deploy, but stood ready. The ones who left their families to train, sweat and stand on the wall until properly relieved. The winners of the cold war, the veterans who stood ready, vigilant and never got the call. They kept us safe, they never wavered and stood always ready and to those today I say thank you.
