On this Wednesday morn, during an early run, the early October weather and landscape were again spectacular: the air was dry and pleasantly warm; the heavens were a lovely mosaic of blue and white with puffy swirls of white clouds adorning a shimmering blue background; and the landscape, with a fresh yellow gleam from the rising sun, was a brilliant golden yellow flecked with red, orange, burgundy and russet foliage. And, as the miles passed, and the warmth of the air and the sun, evoking memories of the summer that is now lost in the mists of history, gently caressed my skin and my spirit, falling leaves twirled through the air before gently landing on the ground, joining their fallen brethren that already adorned the earth. And, autumn deepens with each passing day, the warmth was particularly enjoyable since the warm days of October, unlike the warm days of late May, June, and July, have a fleeting and poignant quality since the cold, harsh weather of late fall and winter looms in the not-too-distant future.
