On this date in 1914, a very special lady was born. A lady who would become my other mother in 1987 when I married her son. Mrs Tommie Warren was a precious person, accepted me into her family as another daughter. You see, I hadnt had a go-to mom since 1984 when my Mom was called Home to Glory. I thought my world had ended but then God sent me another mother. Miss Tommie was just that. How I loved to hear her talk about her family....and she had a huge family!! She was 1 of 15 children...5 sets of twins!!! But she said by the time she came long the oldest one was already 21 so there was always help with the new baby (or babies). When Miss Tommie died in 2010 at the age of 95, she had one sister left, Aunt Faye Russell. Aunt Faye died just shy of her 110th birthday. Those Lauderdales had good genes!!! I can still hear that sweet belly laugh Miss Tommie had. We didnt hear much of it the last year of her life but she enjoyed life to the fullest for 94 years. She sure made a beautiful impression on my life and I know my Mom was proud to see that Miss Tommie was there for me when I needed a Mommy!! We all miss her but know she is in a better place rejoicing with her family and probably rocking somebodys baby right now. We miss you, Mammaw, but we will see you again soon.
