On this day 30 years ago, Juha Kankkunen made his debut for Prodrive driving the Porsche 911 on the Manx Rally. He retired early on (engine) and would not drive another Prodrive car for 15 years, until 1999 when he competed for two seasons alongside Richard Burns in the Subaru World Rally Team. By then hed won four WRC drivers titles. 23 years ago today, Colin McRae won the first of his two Manx rallies in the Legacy RS and would go on to win the British Rally Championship that year. 16 years ago today, James Thompson won race one of the British Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park in the Honda Super Touring Car, which is now in our heritage collection.
