On this day in WWII... March 18, 1942 - The War Relocation Authority was established by President Roosevelt. At this point in the war America was full of tension, with the real threat of a Japanese invasion resting on their shoulders. The War Relocation Authority was meant to gather Japanese-Americans up and place them in detention camps. The order meant financial ruin for most Japanese-Americans and didnt consider individual loyalties to America.
