On this day in music history: 1969 - Janis Joplin and her Kozmic Blues Band make their first appearance on The Dick Cavett Show. 1972 - Boston’s mayor Kevin White helped get Mick Jagger and Keith Richards out of a Warwick, Rhode Island jail so they could make their performance at the Boston Garden. The two were arrested after getting into a scuffle with a photographer. After Jagger and Richards played their “get out of jail free” card, the show went on at 12:30 in the morning. 1982 - "Blues in the Night" closes at Rialto Theater NYC after 53 performances. 1995 - The oldest known musical instrument in the world is found in the Indrijca River Valley in Slovenia. The 45,000 year-old relic, a crude wind instrument, is a bear bone with four artificial holes along its length.
