On this day, three years ago, my soul mate and husband Kevin had open heart surgery. Experiencing the raw emotion of fear and true love in the same moment, we said I love you, not knowing what might happen. Thankfully, through the love, support, and prayers of family and friends as well as the efforts of his doctors; I still have Kevin by my side. Around this time each year, I try to acknowledge his surgery, not as a morbid thing; but to remind us not to take what we share for granted. I love you Kevin and always will. ♥
