On train from San Francisco to LA and really flying to try and make up the time we lost after hitting the back of a semi in Salinas Valley this afternoon. Had to wait until Highway Patrol, Union Pacific, Amtrak and truck driver investigation was completed. Dont think were going to make our connecting train to San Diego at 10:10 out if LA. Our train was going about 80 mph when we hit the truck. Emergency brakes go on immediately on impact. Quite a thrill.
