On youtube looking up retro episodes of Oprah and it is amazing to see the ways in which this country has changed and stayed the same. I enjoy old school Oprah, when she would have important topics with regular ole guests (not celebrity guests) and best of all, she would spend a good portion of the show in the audience with a microphone, interacting with everyone and allowing the audience to question/comment. Right now, Im watching this episode from 1997. Oprah isnt in the audience, but its still classic. Also, its shocking to me that 17 years later and its still such a big deal when someone comes out as gay. I look forward to a time when its not some huge thing and the ignorance surrounding it is replaced with understanding, acceptance and something more than tolerance. https://youtube/watch?v=dyb_nzbHeZg
