*Once Reese Preston realized he had been tricked and lead far astray from the campsite .. which now lay somewhere on the other side of the lake and in who knows which direction, he knew he had to find his own way of getting back .. and quick, because these hills got mighty cold at night this time of year. But how? And which way was camp? He was a New York City Boy! He couldnt tell moss from a blade of dying grass, let alone which direction North or South was nor East or West for that matter! The whole dang woods and lake area looked the same from any angle to him. Now if you had asked him where the Washington Bridge or the Brooklyn Bridge even the L Train, or Yankee Stadium all were .. well then, hed rattle them all off to you in a New York second .. directions included. This however, was a might bit different that New York City where he was born and raised; this was the Wilderness; filled with wild animals, snakes and even sure death if one didnt know how to take care of ones self. Suddenly, Reese was mighty thankful and happy that dear old Mom had fashioned him special thermals and his super deluxe, extra special, retro fitted survival parka jacket! He calmly gave a somewhat impish and smug grin. Well Mom, thanks to you, Ill at least make it through tonight .. tomorrow, on the other hand would be quite another set of problems! he spoke out loud .. to himself .. and any bird or wild animal that happen to be within hearing distance from him. As he chose and started to walk in no particular direction, other than to follow along the shoreline of the lake, after about an hour. he came across 2 row boats, precariously docked in a small alcove of the lake ... Eureka .. My Salvation! he exclaimed victoriously as he rushed to check them out. mmp10/20/2013arr
