Once again, Croke Park has attempted to explain hurling to the first-time viewer via video and once again has failed miserably. Youd think it would be hard to take the most exciting sport in the world and make it seem boring, but theyve succeeded. Too much irrelevant detail, completely inappropriate music, terrible delivery, and they dont even remember to explain that you get three points for putting the ball in the net and one for over the bar. Lets see how long you can endure this. The last person I showed it to said they couldnt stick it for more than 45 seconds, it was so embarrassing. This is a symptom of a much bigger weakness in the GAA: its incapacity to function as a global sports governing body and its inability to communicate with new audiences. However there are people who are experienced at communicating with new audiences, those of us who have been doing it for years. When it comes to this sort of thing they should let us do the talking! https://youtube/watch?v=AShUFgFwlKI
