Once again, I offer my advice for the aging male shopper. When - TopicsExpress

Once again, I offer my advice for the aging male shopper. When shopping for casual EZ-wear shirts, you must consider that the most popular types are Hawaiian style and tee shirts. 1. If you insist on shopping for Hawaiian style, I suggest you get one that buttons to the neck as nothing is much uglier than a 60 year old guy with his shirt open to his navel. I think there may be Health Dept. Rules against wearing such in public. 2. Now for the design or pattern, I suggest a plain or modest pattern. Few things are more distasteful that a short 300 pound guy wearing an unbuttoned shirt with huge yellow and pink pineapples and flowers, emphasizing his shape. 3. Tee Shirts pose several challenges when selecting that one that is just right for you. Size is a challenge, often the ones that fit at the neck do not fit around the mid-section. So, my advice is to try them on before buying. Trying them on when shopping at Walmart, K-mart, Target, (etc.) can be a challenge as not all have dressing rooms and the staff often does not appreciate you trying them on, right there in the middle of the promotional tee-shirt and silky underwear section. You may need to conceal yourself in the household paper-ware section as there is little traffic there. 4. When considering shirts with catchy slogans, I would steer away from ones with statements such as, STUD MUFFIN or When it doubt whoop it out. These really lose their charm at about age 19. So, for a 50 plus guy to wear one may make you look somewhat silly. 5. Next week I will discuss the purchasing of Holiday Headwear!
