Once again the snarling over immigration starts up. My Native friends say we’re way too late with our concern, but being a problem solver, I have a suggestion: How about a trade-off--one ugly, selfish, racist, anti-immigrant jingo-patriot for each prospective new citizen who’s eager to become a unum within the pluribus? And fortunately we have a ready list of American citizens who want out of this country and have signed on the dotted line to discard citizenship—signers of secession petitions. Let’s set them free. They want OUT! And others eager to work and be citizens want in. I don’t see a problem.
