Once in awhile I come across an article that really raises my blood pressure. This is one of them. I have known Kevin Fisher for quite some time. He is bright, articulate, compassionate and really darn good at what he does. He runs an outfit out of Steamboat Springs, CO called Rocky Mountain Remedies and has never been anything but a positive voice and actor in the Cannabis industry in that State. I was very much looking forward to Kevin replicating or improving his model in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, but the witch hunters at The Boston Globe have other designs for Kevin. Come on Globe, you must know that while on many levels we applaud the work that Todd Wallack and Kay Lazar have done in exposing bad operators or potential quid pro quo or materially false statements, this is not one of those times. Before trying to close the door on an organization that is clearly what the Commonwealth is looking for, please take a look at the totality of the circumstances. NETA is well funded and not relying on outside investors. They have solid locations. They are ready to open their doors as soon as the Department of Public Health will allow them to. They have both retail and cultivation experience. They care about the patient. What more do you want from an applicant? Of all the people to be going after, Kevin Fisher is not the one. You can do better than this, Globe, you really can. It is becoming increasingly clear to the citizens of Massachusetts that your overwhelming bias against medical Cannabis is clouding your judgement in reporting. Just because you dont believe Cannabis is medicine does not mean you should systematically tear the applicants apart on minor technicalities in order to further your agenda.
