Once the rain stopped today I hit the road to Siletz, a tiny village 24 miles out along the Siletz River. I stopped at the Siletz Roadhouse for a plate of nachos and some local coulour. Boy did I get it! The guy with the beard is Pocket he is from Texas and has retired to Siletz. How he found it I dont know. The gleesome threesome are Mike, a captain of 2 charter fishing boats, Jeff in the red is... well I dont know but he had a Seattle Mariners cap on and cant be all that bad and then. there is Bella, Mikes wife. I have never seen a woman down a double shot of whiskey before... not even a grimace. The young man who was on the other side of Bella is sleeping in the kitchen so he wouldnt fall off the bar stool. He is also a fisherman and a captain of his own boat and had just finished 48 hours at the helm. It aint Kansas Dorothy. All of them were very nice and welcoming. The natchos were delish. Home on the dark, crooked road was a bit hair raising.
