Once upon a time A man had a rod A simple rod in his hand That he carried everywhere he went He supported himself with it When walking on the road And pushed away twigs from his path With this rod when strolling He scared away birds with it Whenever they invaded his crops And pointed directions with it Whenever a stranger asked him for direction He drew figures on the ground With this rod when calculating with fellow old men And poked sheep back on track With this rod whenever they strayed while grazing One day God decided To change the duties of this rod From simple humble duties To noble miraculous duties The rod paved way in the sea And a nation walked through This once simple rod Delivered a whole nation Later it produced water from a rock Sounds impossible, right? This once simple rod Did the impossible It did many other wonders Which my mind still ponders This once simple rod That once did humble duties If my pen tries to write all the wonders That this simple rod did My pen will run out of ink And I too will run out of words All am trying to explain Is that God raises the humble So never despise humble duties And He will lift you high ...am just thinking
