Once upon a time, after Id left the ministry and given up my ordination, I STILL went around to churches giving lectures on why the Bible is really NOT anti-gay. Then one day I said, Why the hell am I spending so much time and energy trying to get Christians to ACT like Christians...you know, compassion, love-thy-neighbor, etc. etc. So I gave that up. Ive said since that decent level-headed Christians should be the ones to face down the cruel Christians who lead the hate campaigns against gays and lesbians. Good Christians should smack down the bad Christians! And so, here is a brilliant video from one such level-headed Christian, Matthew Vine. I admire him enormously. Yes, Im an atheist, and I disagree with his theological assumptions. But Im sure he can make a huge difference in softening Christian hate and homophobia. More power to him. This video is over an hour long, but its a great resource for those who want to understand the issues. Spread it around!
