Once upon a time, sixty-something years ago, God decided to - TopicsExpress

Once upon a time, sixty-something years ago, God decided to release one of His most adorable and joyful angels down to this earth to share her beauty, passion, creativity, love, and gifts with the world around her. On her 18th birthday, she married her sweatheart (who is in a close second for angelic status as well). Not a day passes me by that I fail to recognize how truly amazing my mother and father are. I feel guilty for being so blessed but more so than that, Im just plain grateful that they are my parents, my rock, my encouragers, my voice of reason, and my friends. It hurts my heart to hear that so many children are parentless... I dont get it. I dont get why everyone cant have a Mel & Kahla for parents!? I honestly wish they could. But back to the point... Mom, Kahla Sue, happy birthday to you and thank you for ALL that you are and all that you do for everyone, especially me. You are my hero, my safe haven, my hallmark buddy, and the person I strive to be (minus the naïveté - jk). You were a phenomenal teacher and counselor and continue to be an exceptional wife, mother, and grammie. I watched you up close and personal as you spent precious moments up until the final goodbye with your own mother and I can only hope to follow in your footsteps... You are the coolest mom ever and Im honored to be your youngest daughter and friend. And Id like to wish you & daddy a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY as well! I love your love for one another and thank you both for sticking out that crazy thing called marriage and always putting God first, each other and our family second. I love you, love you, love you! Well celebrate in person in a few weeks when I see you. Until then, please accept my virtual love and hugs!!! :-)
