Once upon a time there was a little boy. He would stand at his Fathers Orchestra and whistle the tunes his father composed. His father found it so fascinating that he told the little boy to whistle in for the fillers in the compositions. This little boy also was an expert harmonica player. He found place in many of his fathers compositions to breathe in the harmonica fillers. This little boy from Bengal, came to Bombay and stood outside Mehmood Bhais office for days together.he would stand next to a car and beat out the rhythm on the bonnet or the dicky. Mehmood Bhai noticed him for days together.Listened to the Rhythm and fell for it.Called him inside the office and asked him to play the tune. This tune became a hit for Mehmood Bhais next film. The film was Chotte Nawab. The little boy became a music director. And the rest is history. RDBurman made a history in Hindi film Industry. His songs recorded in Bengali were remade into hindi songs,so loved were those tunes. He made it to Durga Puja every year to Calcutta to record a bengali song. And every year that song was remade into a hindi song.It was a kind of record. We remember this Jadugar today on his death anniversery. A Magician Musician who could record a complete song with only a beat taking prominence on a single note. With salutes from all of us at Old is Gold to a RDBurman,a name in musical history in Golden Letters.A Badshah of Rhythm and Melody combined. A song which makes our eyes go moist everytime: To the Little Boy who came to be Panchamda for us. https://youtube/watch?v=W-iyNg4IhW4
