Once upon a time there was a little girl named Zoey. Zoey was blessed with a gift of imagination and wonder. Unfortunately, she lived in a land where people where taught to believe in what they could see and not in what they could dream. One day while getting ready to go to the park, she carefully placed a pink doll shoe in her purse. At the park she made some new friends. Excited about her new friendships and what she had to offer, she whispered to them I have a pink bunny in my purse. She carefully pulled out the pink doll shoe and cradled it gently in her hands. Her new friends quickly distanced themselves. They huddled together and discussed how silly the little girl was. she has a doll shoe and thinks its a bunny they gasped. Sadly, they didnt have the foresight to see how her vivid imagination could transform their own play. You see, to her this shoe served the purpose of a bunny, vegetable, flower, bug tool or anything, as long as it took her deeper into her imaginary world of play. The moral of the story? Embrace your your child’s quirky personality traits. That thing in them that makes them different is most likely where there genius lies. These traits fully recognized are what will transform this world for the better. Help your children to identify and appreciate the “genius zone” in others. Just think, what if every child felt confident to in their own eccentric selfs and not boxed in to some sort of conformity? This is how the next Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and Richard Branson will develop, thrive and multiply. To my little Zoey girl...I hope you never lose your your ability to see things for what they could be
