Once you have a nation where the majority believes that the Universe was created by a magical man in just 7 days, and that Capitalism creates wealth for the masses, and that America is the land of the Free; you shouldnt be surprised when the masses express beliefs in other falsehoods and mythologies. Check out the work of Morris Berman who writes extensively about the anti-intellectualism of Americans. This is much bigger than the Race issue, this is a basic comprehension and understanding issue.
