Ondo Dome ready December –Mimiko The Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has revealed that the ongoing International Event Centre otherwise known as The Dome in Akure, the state capital, would be commissioned before the end of the year. Governor Mimiko made this known during a tour of the centre Wednesday in company with some state officials. He said as soon as The Dome is commissioned, the state would be the preferred event destination. Mimiko also hinted of his government’s determination to build a five-star hotel and a shopping mall to complement the Dome, adding that the facilities would be ready at the state capital before the expiration of his tenure. The Shopping mall in the city is expected to take over 2,000 people off the unemployment market. He said the hotel and The Akure Shopping Mall is already being built at the Owena Motel ground opposite the Dome. The Shopping Mall which the hotel is also expected to complement, he said, would be completed by November 2015. Giving details of the shopping mall, Mimiko said it was being constructed in partnership with Top Services Limited, through Public Private Partnership (PPP). Meanwhile, Mimiko has described the ongoing Mountain Resort project in Idanre as a world class tourism initiative designed to attract over three million tourists to the state
