Ondo fixes shopping mall groundbreaking for Monday THE Ondo State government has fixed Monday for the groundbreaking of its shopping malls project. According to a statement by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, the project is part of the Dr Olusegun Mimiko-led administration’s efforts to improve infrastructure and commerce in the state, adding that the development and operation of the shopping malls is capable of providing employment for the local populace, as applicable in major cities of the world. Initiated under the Public Private Partnership (PPP), Governor’s office, Akure, the project, the statement also mentioned, is a partnership between the state government and Top Services limited and designed to ensure the development and management of shopping malls and car parks in Akure. He added that the development was expected to make Akure a modern retail shopping city and entertainment hub. The project, which is located on the premises of Owena Motel, Alagbaka, Akure, is expected to be completed within 15 months, while owners of Shoprite stores has also been identified as the major anchor tenant.
