One I the coolest things happened to me after my d-team game today. 1st off we won our second game in a row (vs a c-team) so we are 2-0. After the game came an unexpected surprise. On older gentleman came up to me to tell me that he was very impressed with the way I coached and that I was doing an amazing job teaching my athletes to have fun and love the game. He then told me that last week he talked about me when he was doing a coaching presentation at the University of Maryland. When I saw him I knew he looked familiar but then he told me he was Van Chancellor. I was floored at a champion coach in basketball (wnba, Olympics, college) was telling me that I was doing a great job. It was an honor and privilege to speak with him and I was completely humbled that he sought me out to tell me I was doing a good job.
