One Less Gun: Officers Arrest One and Recover Illegal Gun in Dorchester At about 2:45 AM on Thursday, August 7, 2014 officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of 2 Browning Ave in Dorchester. On arrival, officers met with the caller who stated that the suspect, who was known to him, entered the residence with a firearm and threatened to kill his mother. The caller stated that he grabbed the suspect by the arm and told him to leave the residence, and he complied. At this time, the victim called police and gave the location of the suspect. Officers were able to locate the suspect in the area of Bernard and Harvard Streets. Due to the nature of the call, officers conducted a pat frisk of the suspect and located a loaded black Smith & Wesson .40 caliber firearm in his waistband. At this time, the suspect became physically aggressive with the officers, and following a brief struggle, officers were able to place the suspect under arrest. Officers also located a knife in the suspect’s pocket. Officers arrested 23-year-old Kevin Borrero of Jamaica Plain and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Armed Assault in a Dwelling, Resisting Arrest, and Threats.
