One Less Gun: Officers Arrest One for Trespassing and Recover Gun in Roxbury At about 10:40 PM on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) made an onsite arrest and recovered an illegal firearm in the area of 34 Annunciation Road in Roxbury. While on patrol, officers observed a group of approximately 12-15 individuals sitting on benches near the basketball courts in the area of 1195 Tremont Street. As officers continued their patrol through the area, the individuals became alerted to their presence, and the group began to disperse. Upon seeing officers, one of the individuals known to officers for prior interactions immediately began sprinting away clutching what appeared to be a heavy object in his waistband. Following a brief foot chase in which the suspect entered a “No Trespassing” area, officers were able to apprehend the suspect. A search of the area in which the group was loitering allowed officers to recover a Sport King .22 caliber firearm loaded with nine live rounds and one in the chamber. Officers arrested 21-year-old Peter Mastin of Dorchester and charged him with Trespassing.
