One Voice Te Reo Kotahi (OVTRK) is independent and not aligned with any political party. OVTRK speaks from the Non Government sector - allowing the voices of organisations that have not been formed by Government of Commerce to be heard. A recent study, carried out in this country by Johns Hopkins University, concluded that there were 97,000 such organisations in the country - only 10% of them had any paid staff. We all know how much was done after "our" quake by groups in our sector. NGOs who agree with the OVTRK kaupapa can put themselves on the OVTRK register. The purpose of the register is to ensure that the numerous NGOs (non-profit organisations) in Greater Christchurch can find out about each other and can gather to decide on next steps for OVTRK.
