One area woman, “Eileen,” owns a car and said she thinks the price is anything but a bargain. “It’s ridiculous,” she said. “I mean, you can park on the street for free and get a $40 parking ticket every once in a while.” But another woman, “Leah,” said the prices were not out of line with what is to be expected in Park Slope. “In Brooklyn, that seems normal given the other crazy prices here,” she said. “We have a car, and we do street parking.” She said she would rather put the money toward a Long Island beach house.
