One attack on a north east student in Bangalore & Gurgaon, & this idiot Arnab Goswamj hosts a show Nothing but Racism & tries to show that we Indians are the most racist people around; & even agrees with a caller that India is the 2nd most racist country. Dont really understand whether he is addressing the issue or exploiting the issue. Fact is, these are stray incidents; everyday young men & women are attacked in most metropolitan cities. These attacks are not committed by educated working class people; here the attackers mostly are drug addicts or uneducated jobless people or wanable criminals who feel insecure at the growing metropolitan culture were young boys & girls flaunt expensive gadgets, & the gadgets are an opportunity for quick bucks. It dosent matter if the gadget holder(victim) is from northeast or anywhere else, but outsiders are always the soft targets & that dosent mean its a racist attack. In the last few week as per what I remember & read in the newspaper, in Blore alone there was a murder of an old woman, an innocent girl was hanged by in laws; a young 6 yr old girl was raped outside her building, an ATM security guard was shot, an old man was assaulted during his evening walks & an auto driver assaults a girl who refused to pay excess fare; & most victims are localities in these attacks. Why cant Arnab Goswami cover all these attacks ? Why cover a single attack on a north east person & give it a Racist flavor ? Its High time this fellow understand that highlighting of such issues might only give an opportunity for anti social elements to exploit the situation & lead to more attacks in turn disturbing the harmony of the country.
