One can only laugh when your read the article Evans and the entire ASA board get the boot that appeared in the Sunday Times on Sunday written by David Isaacson. The article seems to be skewed towards one camp more than the other, and too seems to be woefully under-investigated. Anybdy involved with the administration of federations would know that an item can not be added to the agenda of an AGM the night before as claimed in the article. To do so, would be to not follow proper procedures, and any decision in such regard would not be able to be enforced, and instead would be vitiated. Thus, it seems as though there was a great deal of bungling at the ASA AGM. This though brings me to a bigger issue, being: Why does the Sunday Times continue to print articles about the administration of sport on the sporting pages? Why are not such matters dealt with by business journalists in the business section of the paper? Would it not be better to do so? After all, you would hardly expect a film critic to write an article about the business transactions of a major film producer as the critic just does not have the knowledge. So why expect a sports journalist to dabble in the business side of sports? By removing the business side of sports to its proper place, more space would be created for articles about events and giving sporting codes and athletes more coverage. Now, is that not what we all want?
