One hot morning I was about to rush to work at noon, as I was - TopicsExpress

One hot morning I was about to rush to work at noon, as I was running down the stairs with my shoes in my hands so late I notice a dog wrapped around a porch in the direct sun.. As I get in my car that felt like a sauna + my temp said 99degrees, I thought more about it and remembered those neighbors moved a couple weeks ago.. I get closer to the dog to realize how hot he is and how badly he is panting. Of course I start to freak out wondering who the hell would leave a poor little dog in direct sunlight especially with no water or anything?! I bring him upstairs to my apartment and he downs water while I call the tags on his collar to track down this irresponsible owner and see why this happened. The vet couldnt give me information but said they would try to contact the owner. The vet calls back to say the owner was missing their dog and has my number, as soon as they said that they were calling me. Poor dog got away from this nice older man on his daily walk and got himself wrapped around the worst spot! The owner said he had been driving around the neighborhood searching for a good TWO HOURS. Now as happy as the ending was when the man was in tears holding his hyper little dog that was so relaxed and happy being back in his owners arms people need to realize how quickly he could have died from pretty much being in heat shock when I found him. It also taught me not to judge people so quickly when an animal is in distress because its not always the owner. Im very happy how this turned out. Also, I was not even 1.5hours late for work! All in all, when I checked my mail today I received the sweetest thank you card, I know that dog is spoiled and has a great home. And this is why I do what I do.
