One interesting thing about twin cities is that, apparently there are also more than just a two cities cooperation. Lyon has actually TWO twin cities in Germany! (Frankfurt Am Main and Leipzig) and the twinning with both Barcelona (Spain) and Turin (Italy) seems interesting in the sense that, sometimes the three cities seem to enjoy working all together from what Ive read... Like instead of a twinning its almost a tripling Lyon - Barcelona - Torino at times!! :) I dont know too much about twinnings in official terms and all. It seems very political and thats not the subject I master the most. Some of Lyons twin cities: Barcelona (Spain) Frankfurt and Leipzig (Germany) Torino (Italy) Philadelphia (U.S.A.) Birmingham (U.K. - Lyons oldest partner) Lodz (Poland) Göteborg (Sweden) Montreal (Canada) Yokohama (Japan) Ho Chi Min ville (Vietnam) Canton (Shangaï) (China) I would certainly love to visit all of those places!! :) Some of the twinnings are funny... Like Mâcon, France is twinned with Macon, USA... Obviously... LOL Notice the hat (accent circonflexe) on the french a... Which makes me realize all of a sudden that I dont remember any accent in the english language?... Those things must have scared the English away at the basis... Like they were what the heck??? Attacked by the French and Germans on the South, the Danish on the East, the Norweggian on the North... And they all have various accents on various letters??? ... Now come on... That seems complicated... Just get rid of that unuseful decoration system! LOL :D
