One last repost before we launch tomorrow morning! Changes are coming! Over the past 3 and 1/2 years our social audience has grown to over 250,000 people combined. Thats a lot. Thank you! In addition to posting to Facebook and Twitter we will now also post to the Texas Scanner Network. This is a pilot project and I’m happy to report we are the first to sign on. TSN, while still in a beta stage, provides two key features we hope you’ll like: Map-Based Events In addition to feeding our existing Facebook and Twitter feeds, all the events we cover will automatically post to a map on TSN. We hope the map will fundamentally change the way you see and understand whats happening in our area. Compared to a hashtag, we think the TSN map is a more intuitive way to organize updates around a breaking news event. Split Box A long stream of Facebook comments, even well-meaning, can interrupt the flow and narrative of the critical information we share. To answer that problem, TSN has created the Split Box. As youll see, it separates DFWScanners updates from public comments. On the TSN platform, this will make it easier for you to follow our chronological updates on breaking events while still allowing you to provide your feedback. The flow and look of information on Facebook and Twitter will not change. As with any new technology there may be a few bumps along the way but we think Texas Scanner Net will be easy to use and provide all of us with a new way of monitoring what’s happening around us.
