One leader once said to me Time is coming where we will not be - TopicsExpress

One leader once said to me Time is coming where we will not be spoiled for choice on who to deploy but we will be is a situation where we wont have anyone to deploy because we are not developing but opening a room for opportunists who will never serve the interest of the organisation but themselves. I did not take this issue into cognisance at that time because there was vast number of people to choose from. I sit here today without offending or provoking anyone but feel shame as to see what our PYA and beloved UJ has turned into. The institution is not in a position to develop leadership capacity because they have no interest of what we become to the society. PYA continue to fight amongst it self because people want to fulfil their interest and micro manage instead of developing leadership capacity that the ANC and the country needs. It is useless to produce quality graduates without leadership because they often get stuck or trapped within the circle. Why have an educated society without the ability to lead? What is our beloved institution doing about this? The statistics have proven that for the last 10 years since merger we have never produced any leader to take on social issues of the country. Our brothers just across the road produces quality in both because they believe on fresh ideas to advance leadership progress. I dont write this to undermine our university but it has always been a mission to be out there and be recognized. We sometimes produce people who cannot even articulate documents of organisation let alone students. We find it difficult in congresses to debate with other institutions. We never have a succession plan. When will there be a time for us to have quality year after year after year than to produce once and switch off? When will we have SRC that is accountable not running parallel to the organisation? The time to change shall never be postponed. Leadership programs should take effect, political schools should be in the blood or else we will be in a position which there will never be anyone to lead. Lack of political schools has created a scenario that SRC is bigger that the organization. SRC no longer attend organisational activities, we find people not engaging organizational documents but in a hurry to vote because all is being reduced to positions that political intellectuality. I put it on to you to re-evaluate all and tell the truth as it is. UJ we are not moving anywhere. i commend few who are still willing to make it in leadeship and can debate issues comrades like Owethu Palesa Mbambo, Gugulethu LeGugz Segwabanyane, Nabila Noor Mahomed, Jack Malope who continue to make it in the ranks of leadership not because of numbers but because of capability and ability to allow growth. We cannot have people leading structures but do not articulate, debate or engage reports but always in the mood to elect. 10 years down the line what do we show that we are ranked in the top 4%? Or we will always be perceived as Children who has it all but there is nothing good coming out of it? I want to be part of transformation the question is are you willing to change all this and stop fighting on who should be SRC but who should lead the organization or position in business. Dont take me wrong this is my opinion
