One month ago today, our lives were forever changed by the sudden passing of our Sweetheart, Daddy and Papa, Steve. Through this unimaginable tragic and sudden loss, we have felt the love, prayers and kindness of our community of friends, family and co-workers so sincere and profound, that we literally can see the love from each of you. We are all back to work/school and trying to create a new normal and routine. The going to work has been healing, yet difficult. The coming home has been welcome, but painful as we are reminded at each arrival that there is a huge hole in our household and our hearts. Mealtimes and other times of gathering together as a family are strengthening, but also reminders of absence. Who assigns mealtime family prayers without him? Although routine is good, it is also a constant reminder of an absence. Each of us have discovered an activity or place we did with him that has caused us to pause and feel the loss more acutely. For me, grocery shopping is so painful. Safeway will never be the same as he was always my shopping partner. However, the staff at Safeway have treated us with such amazing kindness and are sharing our loss, and it is getting a little easier with each trip. We love you all, our friends, family and co-workers. We feel you with us supporting us, loving us and holding us up in prayer. We gain strength from you and know there is great power and healing as you each share our burden of loss and grief. We are a strong united family and we are pulling together to find our new place in the world. Many tender mercies have accompanied our loss and for each we are grateful and know they are precious gifts and signs that we are not walking this path alone. We feel the arms of our Savior surrounding us with each kindness and act of love provided by you. You are His hands. And for that, we will be eternally appreciative and blessed.
