One month is already completed. Two more months to wait for claiming the awards of RS.1000/- from GHMC. As our citizens are dreaming to get awards from Commissioner, we may get a surprising reply instead of getting award,...stating : this pothole is not in our jurisdiction this pothole is not on important road we filled it and we are having the proof also but the leaking water from canteen damaged it again.................and so on. Our Hyderabad roads are now maintained by many departments. 1: GHMC 2: R&B 3: HMDA.... 4: Cantonment Board 5: Panchayat Raj ( in the Panchayats about in 7 Mandalas of Hyderabad area) Before giving such a great responsible statement openly in the news papers, they should have followed : 1: A different colour code or a kind of sine badge for each department on the mile stones or sign boards or on electrical poles. 2: issuing notices to the people who are allowing waste water on to these roads. There must be a toll-free direct calling phone number painted at some interval , on dividers or on electrical poles to enable the citizens to report about the bad roads or any problem on that particular road. ( the automatic machine answering phones are creating a hell instead of helping the citizen) Today we are in need of Citizen friendly system where as the departments are doing it other way with most confusing and delay tactics. When ever we go with a complaint , after a very long gap of few months , GHMC is telling back that the particular portion of road road is not concerned to them. Shramadaan suggested that all the roads in one city to be maintained by only one department i.e. MUNCIPAL CORPORATION to ensure Citizen friendly and to avoid the abnormal delay in attending the repairs. With the present system, it is consuming good lot of time even to report about a bad road to the (correct) concerned department in most of the cases.
