One more DCI post before we move on from the season: Special shout-out to Kyle TheGolf Castro, Kendall Holland and Brice Bach, three of our rookie mellophones my first year teaching at The Academy. Five years ago you were all quiet, nervous and a little uncertain when I met you at auditions; now youre on top of the activity. Kyle, you were a leader on one of the best Cadets hornlines in their history, and Kendall and Brice you just happen to now be record-holders and a part of a corps that came the closest to perfection well probably ever see. At least 99.65% of perfection, that is. We knew you were a special set of kids five years ago, and I am basically bursting with pride and excitement that you got to experience such special seasons. The world seems a more just place today. Emily Fetcho Barclay, our kids are all grown up :)
