One more. February 1980, outward from Nassau in the Bahamas and bound for Tampico in Mexico, then the Panama Canal and up the Gulf of California to Guaymas hauling a drill ship - this came on the radio. Always takes me back to sailing that route - flat calm seas like glass, a deep blue hue - and dolphins and whales in the sea and at the bow, racing the ship - and those carefree days with the sun on my back and the future measured as the next day.
