One more cute little dress for a friend’s grand daughter - made it to fit a 9 - 12 month old (hopefully) as I’ve tweaked the pattern. Original pattern done with cotton, I’ve used acrylic. Original pattern for 0-3 month old. Pattern link : milazaharesblancos.blogspot.in/2012/04/vestidito-de-nina-en-algodon.html Notes : For square neck started with 56 fsc, so with back opening, the calculation is 7fsc x 2 for back, 14fsc x 3 for 3 sides. (b) Did 10 dc rows, ending with 175dc. Made a small error here in increases - thought of increasing 8 sts per row, but didn’t - so think an increase of 2 dc at each end of row (ie 4 dc + 2 ch per corner) would give a more ‘open’ project, and more of the chevron-y body below yoke (c) Last row of yoke dc in 1st 2 dc, ch 1, sk next dc, rep to till end (d) Pattern is a 9 st repeat. Did the first shell (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) in ch-1 sp; ch 5, sk 2 dc, sc in next ch-1 sp and then followed pattern using only the ch-1 sps for either sc or the shell. Got 8 shells. If I’d increased as I thought I should’ve, I think the bottom part would be a lot ‘frillier’ - mine has a bit of an “A”-lined shape (but so is the original pattern image) (e) 4 pattern repeats. (f) Total length of dress from shoulder to end = ~14” ; Round chest = ~ 20”
