One more long weekend idea for you! If youre going camping, or hosting a backyard shindig, campfire popcorn is sure to be a hit! Remember those Jiffy Pop contraptions? Turns out its super simple to make your own version! 1) Grab some Ontario-grown popcorn, on sale this week and next! (Regular price: $0.69/100g, on sale for $0.49/100g; grown in Walsingham, Ontario) 2) Place 2 tablespoons of popping corn and 2 tablespoons of oil in the middle of a large square piece of tin foil (about 18); fold up the edges to form a pouch, leaving enough room for the corn to pop. (Or three tablespoons or each, or 4...depending on how much popcorn you want to end up with, and how big your foil sheet is!) 3) Use wire or string to attach to a stick, and shake over the fire until corn is popped! 4) Add salt and cracked black pepper as desired, or mix it up a little by adding parmesan cheese or chili powder or rosemary or brown sugar...the ideas are endless!
