One more week with my precious Nuka before she rides the rails to her forever home with Brenda Chavez in CT. I have never had a foster come so close to dying and to help her along the road to perfect health again has created a bond between us that will last forever. When I stroke her soft, shiny coat and look into her bright, healthy eyes I am confident that my friend Mary ONeil Ellenwood and I have done everything to prepare her for a beautiful forever life. I have many cracks in my foster heart, but Nukas faultline will be one of the deepest felt. What will help me overcome the hurt of letting her go is the boundless joy of knowing she will be treasured and loved her entire long life
