One night a little over twenty years ago, I was at a party in Palo Alto with a friend. There was a band in the living room playing Motown and beach songs from the sixties. A man wearing a Hawaiian shirt asked me to dance and I accepted his invitation. We danced until we were soaked with sweat then talked in the kitchen for a long time. After I told him that I was majoring in Computer Art (big deal), he took me upstairs - (wait) to see his equipment. No funny business, it was a room full of computer hardware! He beamed with pride and then we went back downstairs, out into the yard to look at the stars. I had no idea who he was at the time but he impressed me that night because he was hilarious, wicked smart, and very humble. Steve Wozniak is his name. Still laugh when I remember that night and now see that the truly great leaders and thinkers of this world are those who step-out, risk looking foolish and persevere despite the odds. youtube/watch?v=DrBw2cXWZS8
