One of my Littles has asked me to give her a list of books I love. I can love these works for any reason- how theyve changed me; the artistry with which theyre crafted by writers who weave stories with words and soul dust; if the story is funny or serious; or if it was written last year or last century. I started this list last night and have spent time on it again today. My Littles intent is to know me through the words I value. Isnt that a wonderful gift for a daughter to give her mother? This desire to know her in such a way? Now, I must give her a gift in return by way of this delightful, beautiful list. What books would you share with your sons and daughters, friends? As Ive been considering my list, I feel so sentimental and happy. Im grateful for storytellers and those who dabble in the written word.
