One of my earliest worst memories is the Vietnam War. My oldest - TopicsExpress

One of my earliest worst memories is the Vietnam War. My oldest brother Paul escaped the draft by getting married and family, second Oldest John lucked out with 4F for skin condition he had at the time, My brother Aivar a Hippie wasn’t so lucky he got orders to report. He said good bye to all of us one afternoon (without telling us where he was going) and his friend drove him to Canada. I remember the night Nixon announced the end of the draft on National Television. My brother called that night from the Canadian border cheering his lungs out. BUT 56,000 18 year olds weren’t so lucky they died in a needless war and 100,000 s had to serve. Many of you on my friends list. Thank you for serving for following your American Duty. An God Bless You for Returning Alive! Yet it was a useless war a war to fill the pockets of the Industrial Military Complex.. An may they Rot in Hell! As my late WWII Vet Father said one night watching the news. “This isn’t an honorable War, This isn’t a War against Communism. it’s a Slaughter of Americas Youth.”
